Do college dorm rooms get broken into a lot?
Theft in college dorms
People break into rooms all over. Especially when left unlocked and/or unattended. So make sure you lock your doors at all times when away and sleeping.
Get to know the people in your hall. You can build trust with them, but always lock your doors as you never really know about a person having only known them from the dorms at college for a short period of time.
Make sure you make your laptop and other items identifiable in case they are stolen and you see someone with it.
Record serial numbers and such for the things you want to protect. Chances are if they stole it, they may be using it.
College dorms usually lock their doors at night and the only way to get in is with a special key as well as passing the front desk. So the most important thing is to keep your own doors locked at all times.
