Read on		Cut Off Date to File Student Loan on Bankruptcy The only way a Federal loan such as a student loan can be discharged through bankruptcy is either it the debtor becomes permanently disabled or dies. Federal loans can also be partially discharged in situations such as those with teachers’ special programs. There may be steps that could lead to discharge of a student loan as some have mentioned in the past, but it would be a very, very difficult process as, again, it is really not an option to discharge a federal student loan through bankruptcy.
